With its significant and sizeable offshore wind potential, and strong industrial capabilities, Japan can be an offshore wind leader and seize the Asian offshore wind opportunity. Japan is well placed to be able to capitalize on these advantages, and deploy offshore wind at scale for both the production of power and green hydrogen.

The Global Offshore Wind Summit-Japan (GOWS-J) is Japan’s leading offshore wind power event and will be held from October 15 – 17, in Akita, Japan. This event is aimed at leveraging Japan’s significant potential and robust industrial foundation in offshore wind power generation. With over 800 attendees from both domestic and international offshore wind markets, the summit offers a platform for expert presentations, discussions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. More over, in collaboration with local municipalities, it aims to foster regional consensus on offshore wind power initiatives.

This event is organized by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA).

Netherlands participation

Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE), together with Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo, Japan, will organize a Netherlands country pop-up booth. We will showcase a compact overview of Dutch companies active in the Japanese offshore wind supply chain.

Participation in the NL pop-up booth includes a.o. the following:

• Exposure in the pop-up booth with space for company brochures;
• Shared TV screen at the pop-up booth for corporate video (max. 1,5 min) or PowerPoint Presentation (max. 6 slides);
• Hosting support on site from HHWE, NL Embassy and interpreters;
• Support from HHWE and NL Embassy before, during and after the event;
• Participation in the NL – JP side event(s), see below;
• Support in arranging individual meetings with Japanese stakeholders;
• Hotel and flight recommendation; and
• Joint promotion.

These are optional and can be purchased with the entrance ticket. Participation only includes the services as described above.
