Opportunities in Poland

Poland is still heavily dependent on coal and needs to take immediate action to meet the energy transition ambitions. This means that the production of renewable energy must increase significantly.

The development of wind energy in the Baltic Sea is one of the best ways for Poland to achieve this energy transition. Poland aims to develop almost 6GW of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030. By 2040, that should be about 11GW. According to experts, the capacity can even further increase to 28GW.

Tenders have been launched for various offshore wind projects. Plans are being made for other projects and collaborations are being set up. This is the momentum for Dutch companies to strenghten their network and present themselves in Poland for participation in these projects.
Poland is in serious need of foreign knowledge and expertise in the field of offshore wind energy to reach her ambitions. A lot of effort is being put into developing value chains in this sector. Many players want to collaborate with parties from leading countries such as the Netherlands. With previous trade missions and events in Poland, Polish companies and organizations have shown a clear interest in Dutch knowledge and expertise.

Participation in this mission is open to companies and knowledge institutions in the offshore wind energy with focus on:

• offshore installation & transport
• maintence;
• engineering;
• port infrastructure & logistics;
• Ecology;
• Training & education; and
• other suppliers and service providers.

Preliminary program

The program consists of the following components:

• participation in the PWEA 2022 Conference from June 13-15, 2022;
• knowledge sessions, including a presentation of the  market survey for Dutch companies, which is updated especially for this mission;
• networking events;
• individual matchmaking: tailor-made network conversations; and
• introduction and round table with influential players and decision makers.

Participation and costs

A maximum of 30 companies/organizations can participate in the mission, with max. 1 person per organization. In case the registration period will be extended, there is no guarantee you will still be able to participate in the individual matchmaking.

Participation costs: €950,00 per organization.

The service package includes:

• all components mentioned above under preliminary program;
• local support by the organization of the  mission;
• local transport.

Travel and accommodation costs are at own expense.

Participation in this mission is only open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutions that fit into substantive focus of the trade mission. Registration does not automatically mean you are accepted as participant in the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation afterf the registration period has closed.

This mission is organized by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warschau and the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA).
