The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE), and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) are organizing in close collaboration with the Japan Wind Power Association a Webinar on the Offshore Wind Tenders and its implications for the Supply Chain on March 15, from 08:30 – 10:00 CET | 16:30 – 18:00 JST. 

This Webinar takes place as part of the Smart Energy Week March 2022 edition. Fourteen Dutch companies present themselves in the Netherlands Pavilion at the “Wind Expo Tokyo”. During the Webinar, 14 Dutch companies present technologies that are suitable to the Japanese needs.

駐日オランダ王国大使館 、オランダ風力発電協会（HHWE）、オランダ企業庁（RVO）は、日本風力発電協会と共同で「洋上風力入札とサプライチェーンへの影響」に関するウェビナーを3月15日16：30～18：00（JST）、08：30～10：00（CET）に開催いたします。

2022年3月には「スマートエネルギーWeek」が開催され、この中の「WIND EXPO風力発電展」(オランダ・パビリオン)には、オランダ企業１４社が参加予定です。こちらの企業は、本ウェビナーへも登壇し、日本向けの技術を紹介します。

Offshore Wind in The Netherlands & Japan

The Netherlands has big ambitions regarding offshore wind energy as a renewable energy source, and so has Japan. The Dutch government has recently announced a plan to realize in total 27.5GW of offshore wind energy for 2030. The Netherlands has set up a unique bidding system, in which the government takes the lead in stakeholder management and assessment studies. A transparent tender system is a priority and the government let the market come up with solutions to realize innovations and cost reductions.

The Japanese government has similar ambitions for a more carbon neutral society regarding offshore wind energy as a valuable source. In 2021, the first round of offshore wind tenders was realized and for the next decade 11GW is planned, and ambitions reach to 47GW 2040.

It is time for a comparison between our tender systems and what lessons are there to learn and to be well prepared for the upcoming tenders.

Also Dutch companies with presence on the upcoming Wind Expo Tokyo will give short introductions on how they can offer solutions in the development of the local Japanese supply chain.
