Dutch offshore foundation manufacturer Sif and compatriot consultancy and engineering company IX Wind have established a partnership under which IX will be supporting Sif in their deployment in Taiwan from September 2018 onward.
At the moment, Sif is predominately active in north-western Europe, but is actively expanding its business to other continents. In September 2017, SIF and Century Wind Power Co. Ltd signed a letter of intent to investigate the possibilities of a joint venture to offer and produce monopiles and transition pieces for the Taiwanese market.
“To support our local presence in Taiwan and to liaise with our partner Century Steel, we are pleased to work with IX Wind. It will ensure swift and short communication lines between all local stakeholders, our Manager New Markets Peter Coppens based in The Netherlands and our local partner Century Steel,” Michel Kurstjens, CCO of Sif, said.
IX Wind (Independent eXperts) opened an office in Taipei, Taiwan, to serve the local wind market in June 2018.
”We are very pleased with this cooperation,” said Eric Kamphues, director and owner of IX Wind. ‘SIF has a proven track record of being a very reliable business partner and in a constantly changing and growing business like offshore wind, reliability is key for any successful project.”
